경기도 고양시 덕양구 화정동 지역에 지하1층, 지상3층, 연면적 약8,492㎡ 규모의 고양어린이 박물관은 고양시를 비롯한 경기북부지역에 거주하는 유아 및 초등학생, 가족을 위한 어린이 교육 인프라와 문화쉼터를 제공한다. 9개 전시관과 136개 놀이체험시설을 갖추었으며 특히 박물관 전체를 안전교육의 장으로 활용해 어린이들이 위험에 대한 안전의식을 생활화할수 있도록 하였다. 1층에는 어린이 안전사고 예방을 위한 맞춤형 3D 애니메이션과 가정에서의 사고 예방 대처교육 체험으로 구성된 생활안전체험관, 나무를 형상화한 12m 높이의 조형물 아이글루(클라이머)가 자리 잡고 있다. 국내 기술로 선보이는 대형 클라이머 아이구르는 2층과 3층을 가로지르는 6개의 기둥과 여러 갈래로 뻗은 형태로 어린이들이 직접 오르내리며 자연과 소통할 수 있는 놀이아이템이자 박물관 중앙 조형물이다.

The Goyang Children’s Museum has a total area of 8,492㎡ with 3 stories and a basement floor and is located in the Hwajung area of Dukyanggu, Goyang city.The museum offers an educational infrastructure and a cultural resting space for the residing youngsters and families nearby and inside Goyang city.9 exhibition halls and 136 experiential playing facilities are equipped and the entire museum is utilized to act as a space of safety education for the youngsters.In the first floor, a 3d animation of safety education is played. A life security experience hall helps kids to prevent from being involved in accidents and the 12m high art structure, Igloo, stands in the form of a tree. The Igloo, a big climbing structure for children, was introduced solely by domestic technologies and spreads out to the 2nd and 3rd floor with 6 pillars and many branches. Children naturally goes up and down, communicating with their peers and with nature in the center of the museum.
