상당구 청사는 1만9488㎡로 지하 1층, 지상 5층 규모로 건물 형태는 상당산성의 통문을 형상화해 역사와 문화적 가치를 담았다. 주민 편의 시설도 마련된다. 민원인이 많이 찾는 1층에는 구민홀, 전시공간, 북카페가 만들어지고 모자휴게실, 수유실 등이 들어선다. 300석 규모의 공연장과 야외정원도 설치된다. 지하와 지상 주차장은 300대 이상 수용이 가능하다. 건물 내부는 ‘장애물 없는 생활환경(Barrier Free)인증’ 취득을 위한 설계안이 적용됐다.

The Sangdang-gu City Hall has a total area of 19,488㎡ with 5 storeys and a basement floor. The architecture has its form derived from the Sangdang mountain fortress and holds the cultural and historical values of the region. Convenience facilities for the local people are also provided in the hall.In the first floor where a lot of people come by, a hall for the people, a feeding room, an exhibition space and a book café are situated. An exterior garden and a performance hall that could accommodate more than 300 people are also planned.The basement and ground floor parking zones could accept more than 300 cars. The inside of the architecture is also considered to appreciate the disabled so that a Barrier Free License could be guaranteed.
